Depending on the lawyer, the receptionist will schedule an appointment or have you speak to an attorney. You may also ask to speak or meet with the legal assistant.

Fees for services and other billing procedures will be reviewed with you before you retain an attorney in the office to handle your matter. After you have retained an attorney, your matter will be handled by that attorney, whom you may consider as "your" attorney. However, because of scheduling difficulties, your attorney may ask another attorney to assist him or her in a specific part of your file.
